Frequently Asked Questions
What is a course of study?
A high school Course of Study is a list of all the courses the student will take for a particular school year. This form is used for review when compiling the senior transcript. Download yours on our High School Page.
What is a transcript?
A transcript is a record of student grades for each semester. Semester Transcripts are turned in at the end of the first semester and at the end of second semester.
CCPSP high school seniors will receive an official non-accredited CCPSP transcript, provided all required Semester Transcripts upon graduation. The CCPSP cannot provide a high school transcript if the student’s file is incomplete nor can the CCPSP be responsible to provide paperwork and/or information above and beyond what has been submitted and filed in the student’s cumulative file.

What is a four year planner?
The High School Planning Chart is a tool to plan which classes are needed to graduate and when the classes will be scheduled over the four years of high school. Determination must first be made as to whether a student will follow the General Education requirements (non-college bound) or the College Preparatory requirements. After careful consideration, please choose either General Education OR College Preparatory and complete this form.
CAN I ENROLL IN YOUR PROGRAM MID-SEMESTER?
Yes, however if your student is wishes to participate in a CIF sport we are not able to admit high school students any later than two weeks after the semester has begun due to the sensitive nature of transcripts and credits, and the strict adherence to CIF rules. If your student is a senior we prefer they are enrolled before the first day of the new school year and no senior may be enrolled starting the second semester.
What is HSLDA?
The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) has provided low cost, quality legal defense for home school families since 1983. To assure added protection for the CCPSP and our individual families, we require all CCPSP members to join HSLDA. The annual membership fee is $100.00 through the PSP. Visit their site for information regarding the California Education Code.
What is a CUM File?
The cumulative (CUM) file is the record kept by the school for each student of all paperwork submitted by the parent. This is the student’s permanent academic record. When transferring in from another school, we will forward a CUM file request to the student’s previous school. Each file must contain the following records: Attendance Record, Course of Study, a current Immunization Record, and Semester Evaluations. Achievement test results are optional.
What is a group leader?
Each PSP family is assigned a group leader as an additional support for your school year. They are experienced, home school mothers with a willingness to encourage those in our PSP. You may contact them via email throughout the school year.
DO YOU PROVIDE SCHOOL PICTURES, ID'S, or a yearbook?
Yes! School photos are taken on a scheduled picture day and there will be a make-up day. CCPSP will cover part of the cost of a picture package. Each student and teacher will receive a School ID. A yearbook is offered to all CCPSP members for a small co-pay.
What are the record keeping requirements?
For each enrolled student the parent is required to submit a Course of Study for the year. At the close of each semester grades and attendance are required. Visit the appropriate page for your students grade to download / submit all necessary forms.
How do i obtain Curriculum?
Parents are required to provide and pay for all curriculum, teaching materials, and extra-curricular activities for their student(s). It is the parents’ responsibility to research material in order to teach their student(s) a course of study fitting to his/her mental and physical capabilities. If you have any questions please contact the office.
